76 The world's largest hydraulic vibratory hammer/extractor
R.H. Whisler Jr; Mississippi Valley Equipment Company, St. Louis, Mo., USA
Building a large vibratory system to penetrate all soils with slurry beams and caissons proved to be quite a challenge. The extremely large dynamic force developed by the V-140 hammer put severe demands on every component within the system. Several problems were encountered during manufacturing and testing, however the V-140 has proven to be one tough vibratory hammer/extractor. The end results and job experiences prove that United States manufacturing has ingenuity, persistence and workmanship that are hard to beat.
