CFA Pile Technology Implementation (DFI of India) Committee

Sunil S. Basarkar, Ph.D., Chair

DFI of India (DFII) Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) Pile Technology Implementation Committee was formed in 2018 after the regional chapter was awarded $30,000 USD in 2017 from the DFI Committee Project Fund to execute a CFA trial pile project, which also received significant in-kind support and funding from Indian companies. The goal of the committee is to introduce and popularize the use of CFA piles to address the growing fast track piling needs in India.

The demonstration project, involving the installation and testing of CFA piles, was successfully conducted between November 2018 and November 2019.

The goal of this committee is to prepare a manual about the design, installation and testing of CFA piles to share with Indian geotechnical professionals through seminars and workshops.

The committee is working closely with the DFI Augered Cast-in-Place and Drilled Displacement Committee in the U.S.
