Abstracts are being accepted for presentations at SuperPile ’26, a piling design and construction conference being hosted by DFI in partnership with ADSC on June 24–26 at the New Orleans Marriott. Abstracts are due Monday, March 16, and can be submitted at dfi-events.org/superpile26.
Invited and selected presentations will highlight advancements, innovations and challenges in design and construction of deep foundations. Presentations that highlight design approaches for foundation optimization, innovative approaches to foundation construction, and case histories/topics relevant to the Gulf Coast are encouraged. Panel discussions on current topics will provide attendees opportunities to share new ideas and industry experience.
Presentation abstracts are being accepted on the following topics:
- History, innovation and advancements in deep foundation design, installation and testing
- Projects in urban environments (e.g., support of excavation, working platforms, mitigating vibrations, etc.)
- Deep foundations in support of inland waterway and aging infrastructure projects
- Trends in design, including design-phase test programs, modular design concepts, MWD, extreme events, large-diameter foundations, new/updated codes and standards
- Geologic challenges of organic, alluvial and deltaic deposits, including group effects, setup, etc.
- Challenges in construction including mechanical splices, large-diameter foundations, pile bleed
- Trends in safety practices
- Trends in grout and concrete mixes for deep foundations
- Current and future practice of QC/QA and acceptance, including MWD, instrumentation, integrity methods, load testing and short- and long-term monitoring of deep foundations
- Sustainability (e.g., energy piles, equipment/material development, carbon savings, etc.)
- Nondestructive testing of existing and new deep foundations
- Benefits and challenges of design-bid-build versus alternative project delivery, or of performance versus prescriptive specifications
