Deep Foundations Institute is an international association of contractors, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, academics and owners in the deep foundations industry. Our multidisciplinary membership creates a consensus voice and a common vision for continual improvement in the planning, design and construction of deep foundations and excavation.

Advance your studies. The DFI Journal is an international peer-reviewed publication that supports authors whose research and practice covers a broad range of subjects on deep foundation engineering and construction. DFI members receive an online subscription to the Journal at no additional cost.

Communities Showcase

Foundation Reuse Task Force

DFI’s Foundation Reuse Task Force is working to promote reuse by leveraging experience among DFI members and collaborating across pertinent committees. Task Force activities include gathering and summarizing project examples that highlight unique applications and significant benefits of reuse, preparing webinars in collaboration with the IT$MONEY series, and hosting a panel session at the DFI annual conference to foster a conversation regarding overcoming the risks associated with reuse.

Committee Project Fund

The DFI Board of Trustees established the DFI Committee Project Fund in 2011 to fund DFI Technical Committee projects that advance the state of practice and understanding of deep foundations and produce a usable deliverable. Funding has supported projects proposed by 17 technical committees, and deliverables include laboratory/field testing, installation/demonstration programs, analytical tools, design guides, journal articles, project reports, databases and surveys.
