Deep Foundations Institute is an international association of contractors, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, academics and owners in the deep foundations industry. Our multidisciplinary membership creates a consensus voice and a common vision for continual improvement in the planning, design and construction of deep foundations and excavations.

DFI organizes many types of events to provide opportunities for members and industry colleagues to network and exchange knowledge within the deep foundations realm. We also encourage our members to engage in the deep foundations community by submitting papers and presentation proposals to events, and by becoming a sponsor of DFI’s events to show members’ leadership and support in the industry.

Deep Foundations Magazine
DFI’s Deep Foundations magazine is published by the industry, for the industry. Our publication has one goal – to keep DFI members informed about the deep foundations industry that they themselves are shaping.
DFI Educational Trust
Formed in 2006, DFI’s Educational Trust supports and encourages individuals in the fields of studies related to the deep foundations industry by providing scholarships, grants and opportunities to meet and work with deep foundations industry leaders.

The DFI Journal is an international peer-reviewed publication that supports authors whose research and practice covers a broad range of subjects on deep foundation engineering and construction. We take a particular interest in research and case studies related to all systems designed and constructed for the support of heavy structures and excavations.
Communities Showcase
Communities are the backbone of DFI, providing the practical forum for finding common ground in the deep foundations industry. Technical Committees, Regional Chapters, Task Forces, Working Groups, User Groups, and Industry Alliances provide opportunities for all members to identify and address issues that impact deep foundations practice.

Committee Project Fund
The DFI Board of Trustees established the DFI Committee Project Fund in 2011 to fund DFI Committee projects that advance the state of practice and understanding of deep foundations. Funding has supported projects proposed by 19 committees, involving significant in-kind contributions and joint funding with allied associations.
