DFI takes a special interest in deep foundations education, recognizing that the students of today will be the industry leaders of tomorrow. In pursuit of supporting the future of deep foundations, DFI has compiled many resources useful to students in the fields of deep foundations, construction, and excavation.

DFI is also excited to provide free individual memberships for students. Students must provide a copy of their student ID card upon submission of their application, and are encouraged to submit resumes to the resume bank for viewing by DFI Corporate Members.

Applying for DFI’s scholarship opportunities, joining student chapters, and submitting your resume are a great way to begin your deep foundations journey.

Scholarships​

The DFI Educational Trust provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students studying in the fields of geotechnical and foundation engineering, and construction management.

DFI Student Chapters are organized to allow student members to participate in improvement of the planning, design, and construction aspects of deep foundations and deep excavations.

Student Resumes

DFI student members are able to upload their resumes for corporate members in the deep foundations industry to browse. Resumes can be uploaded through your MyDFI account.

Student Competitions

DFI and its Educational Trust hold an annual student paper competition as well as other competitions at conferences at times.

Student Paper Competition

DFI’s Student Paper Competition is open to graduate and undergraduate students of engineering and construction, providing winners with chance to publish in the DFI Journal and to present at DFI’s Annual Conference.
