The purpose of the Tunneling and Underground committee is to identify and facilitate the advancement of new methods and technologies for design, construction, inspection, maintenance and operation of tunnels and underground systems.

Robert Stier

Drill Tech Drilling & Shoring, Inc.

Bob Stier joined Drill Tech Drilling & Shoring in 2018, bringing more than 35 years of tunneling expertise. He oversees the Eastern Region, leading projects on both coasts and securing the company’s largest GC design-build contract for the National Park Service. A specialist in drill-and-blast tunnels, TBMs and micro tunneling, he holds a civil engineering technology degree from Kennesaw State University.

Renee Fippin, P.E., G.E.

Delve Underground

Renée L. Fippin, P.E., G.E., is a principal engineer at Delve Underground. A Miami University graduate, she specializes in geotechnical and structural engineering for shafts, tunnels, and rehabilitation projects. A member of Delve’s board, she has also published extensively for the Underground Construction Association.
