Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust, the charitable arm of DFI, has appointed Jim Glider of Malcolm Drilling Company to the Board of Trustees. He is serving as a trustee for the period January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2024.
Glider is a senior project manager for Malcolm Drilling based out of the Wisconsin office. His primary focus at the company is bidding and managing projects throughout the Midwest and Eastern regions. In the 7 years he has been with Malcolm, he has overseen notable projects including BMO Harris Tower in Milwaukee; Gordie Howe International Bridge in Detroit; Madawaska International Bridge in Madawaska, Maine; and the Blue Origin Launch Complex-36 in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Glider has worked in the specialty contracting industry, specifically focused on geotechnical construction, since 2016. Before that he worked in the heavy civil/bridge industry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
“Jim’s strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude are great assets for the Trust board,” says Rudy Frizzi of LANGAN and chair of the DFI Educational Trust. “We look forward to all of the good work he will do as a part of Trust leadership to encourage and support students studying and planning to be part of the deep foundations industry.”
